Our client, Dynacraft, is a $150 million Consumer Products company providing recreational equipment to high volume mass retailers. They are expanding into the 3PL market. Their brand new facility measures over 500,000+ square feet and provides a variety of services including drayage, warehousing, ecommerce order fulfilment, store delivery, and DC to DC for big box retailers.

LOCATION: Savannah, GA

The Director of Operations will be responsible for leading 700,000+ square foot facility in all aspects of the daily operations. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating current and proposed systems and procedures, and determining and implementing changes as necessary.  Reporting in directly to the VP of Operations, the Director of Operations will lead and develop the Operations Management Team. This individual will also have a team reporting directly to them as well. This candidate will continue to develop, implement, and improve processes within the facility. 

  • Develops and maintains operations business plans, productivity and standards to include all customer/company requirements, labor hours, equipment, facility costs, and human resource decisions to enable organization to reach goals and focus on continuous improvement
  • Leverages continuous improvement methods to enhance labor productivity and process accuracy while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Responsible for financial analysis and aggressive management of operational expenses; manages the facility P&L
  • Reviews operating reports, identifies and directs the resolution of operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
  • Ensures operational procedures are followed for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
  • Work closely with port management to ensure smooth facilitation of drayage services
  • Ultimately accountable for outcome of key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Distribution focus: oversight of shipping/receiving, picking/packing, inventory and VAS activities.
  • Lead negotiation efforts for major warehouse contracts
  • Background Profile:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management including 7+ years of experience in a 3PL
  • Demonstrated expertise in a 3PL environment managing multi-client warehousing and distribution facilities.
  • Experience supporting negotiations for new or increased customer contracts.
  • Experience implementing and managing key performance indicators throughout operations and holding management and employees accountable for performance metrics.
  • Solid financial, analytical and P&L experience.
  • Familiarity with Lean techniques and continuous improvement models.
  • Experience with warehouse management and transportation management systems (WMS/TMS/YMS).
