Description
The Senior Procurement Manager will drive and collaborate with cross functional teams to implement and manage product and business process changes in a values-based manner. They will be responsible for a team of procurement professionals to meet the current and future needs of the business.
 
 
Responsibilities
Establishing job design and ensuring appropriate staffing to deliver the department's strategic operating plan and short-term goal.
Creating a stimulating work environment that supports the Company's high performance culture as well as ensuring an efficient and flexible organization.
Delivers a sustainable competitive advantage by achieving maximum value for materials expenditures.
Initiates business process innovation and vendor cost savings opportunities.
Challenges status quo of vendors and internal clients by presenting multiple solutions to address cost, performance and marketing impact for materials and services purchased by the company.
Executes purchasing activities through negotiating and implementing cost effective valued contracts.
Leads sourcing activities which recognize alternate supply sources and negotiation opportunities with focus on Total Cost of Ownership principles (savings and risk management).
Influences marketing and plant operations to use alternate materials specifications as well as alternate sourcing strategies in order to deliver lowest total cost of ownership.
Serves as industry professional with respect to raw materials (includes vendor landscape, cost, and quality).
Manages the identification, development, and qualification of new suppliers for new products.
Understands internal and supplier development cost associated with ideation of new products, through commercialization of new product development effort. Subsequently ensures costs are accurately portrayed so that the company can create appropriate long-term value.
 
 Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred
5+ years’ experience in procurement for consumer goods companies
2+ years’ management experience.
Prior experience handling multi-site locations.
Prior experience sourcing raw material from Europe and Pacific Rim.
CPG products experience preferred
Knowledge regarding commodity-type products
Comprehensive knowledge of the procurement processes and proven success in recognizing business needs and driving a cross-functional team in achieving its goals.
An understanding and proven execution of total cost and continuous improvement methods.
Ability to decipher technical packaging data into business opportunities.
 
 Compensation
$90,000- $125,000
Bonus potential
