POSITION
The Senior Design Solution Manager will manage and actively work within a team of supply chain professionals in the development, preparation, production and presentation of the organization’s solution design, engineering and cost activities for projects in his/her service line/accounts in order to deliver new business growth for Neovia. They will also use their engineering, communication and analytical skills to support the team’s development of innovative and compelling supply chain solutions for Neovia’s customers.

ROLE YOU WILL PLAY
Provide general management and strategy to a team of Solutions Engineers and Solutions Design Managers in delivering technical analysis, operational design and optimization, financial modelling, proposal and presentation development, all centered on customer requirements. RFP and RFQ experience required
Technical Analysis – identify data needs and lead analysis to support solution development including the ability to deal effectively with ambiguous situations and address critical gaps in scoping by developing effective assumptions
Operational Design & Optimization – lead design efforts for new business including facility sizing, capacity planning, process design, labor planning, storage analysis, handling and storage equipment selection and location analysis
Active leader in department initiatives by evaluating, recommending, and implementing process improvements
Provides input to help determine when projects qualify for an offer by making recommendations to decision makers as necessary
Active leader in developing fully-integrated solutions by collecting and challenging information (SME’s), identifying risks and issues for the project. Determines headcounts, material and equipment requirements, location, layout, workflows, etc. and prepares this for presentation to client specialists and executives
Provides input on all pre-qualification work (including client presentations) so as to meet the deadlines and the quality standards of the organization. This includes helping to set technical objectives, preparing engineering development proposals and feasibility studies
Develops the team to gain trust & credibility with prospective client through effective relationship management and demonstration of logistics knowledge. Leads planning workshops with large groups (e.g. client and/or organization team members) designed to meet critical customer timelines and participates in establishing design constraints
Provides regular process reports in writing and in person to client and organization leadership as well as a project risk assessment
Manages a team of 4 to 6 engineers and is actively involved with up to 10 functional team members
Ensures proposals are accurate (with clear scope and assumptions documented), professional and targeted to meet the Client’s needs
Takes part in the proposal process to the prospective client by presenting the technical specifications of the proposed solution and providing relevant answers to client’s technical questions

BACKGROUND PROFILE
Ideally a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent through experience
Typically 7-10 years of professional experience
Minimum five (5) year work history as an Industrial Engineer / 3PL warehouse engineer
Minimum three (3) years in like Solution Management role
Minimum three (3) years people management
High level of analytical and project management skills
