COMPANY
Our client, NAQEL Express headquartered in Saudi Arabia, is a leading global logistics supply chain solutions provider operating in 12 countries specializing in e-commerce, express deliveries, import/export, customs, fulfillment, and land/sea/air freight with more than 3500 employees, 3000 vehicles, and handling over 4 million shipments per year. NAQEL is looking to expand their global presence by establishing operations in the United States focusing on exports to the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe.  

LOCATION
Greater New York Area or Los Angeles, CA

POSITION
The Executive Vice President of US Operations/ Head of Country reports to the Chief of International Business and will establish operations for Naqel within the United States.   

ROLE YOU WILL PLAY
  • Establish presence in the United States business along with a strategic plan to develop sales and operations
  • Set up a physical Naqel United States headquarters office in either New York or Los Angeles in the legal framework of the United States. Establish legal framework for United States including company registration, customs clearance and operations both inbound and outbound.  
  • Responsible for implementing all operations within the United States
  • Identify opportunities and implement plans to expand client base, market share, and geographic reach, initially specifically focused on exporting
  • Define the organization structure, roles, responsibilities, and authority limits of the United Sates leadership team
  • Manage client, business, and government relationship through all phases of the sales and operational cycles.
  • Provide pickup and delivery services for customers and the network
  • Responsible for all related issues to establish new services and hire necessary team as per management’s approval.
  • Recruit and manage staff, including performance monitoring, and possibly mentoring and training.
  • Responsible for tracking customer information, forecasts, collections and reports.
  • Develop, implement and manage short and long-term strategic and tactical plans to achieve goals and objectives
  • Screen potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
  • Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • Manage research and feasibility studies related to new business opportunities, including new market expansion and new services.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Develop and promote new products and services as they are made available.
  • In the future, develop a sales team and manage appropriately
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

BACKGROUND PROFILE
  • Prefer written and verbal communication skills in English and Arabic
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent – Masters a plus
  • 7+ years in a similar or relevant position within import/export, freight forwarding, or 3pl industries
  • Full understanding of the Express (Courier) industry products and services (B2C, B2B, E-commerce delivery).
  • Executive level financial/business acumen including demonstrated ability to formulate a sound business plan to achieve revenue goals
  • Excellent ability to set up relations with customers, business community, regulatory authorities (government, customs etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, including people-management, leadership and both written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience assembling and managing sales teams
  • Demonstrated success delivering best in class customer service
