Our client over the last 35 years has developed one of the top Transportation Logistics services company in Southern California. This privately held company provides harbor drayage services out of both LA ports handling over 40,000 containers annually.

We have been retained to secure a Director of Sales to continually grow their transportation drayage business.

LOCATION
Southern California-Long Beach

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Sales will be responsible for growing transportation and drayage services.
 Responsibilities include:
• Selling customized multi-million dollar contracts for transportation and drayage services both domestically and internationally. 
• Develop/maintain regional and industry verticals book of business for domestic and international clients with concentration on consumer products and light industrial.
• Meet with middle/senior logistics executives in client organizations to scope out and understand needs for service sales opportunities.
• Develop and maintain sales territory marketing plan by developing strategy to maintain or increase business with each account (existing and potentials), meet/exceed account specific budgets, and management of customer specific forwarding account procedures and sales leads, along with managing current account.
• Plan and conduct sales calls, including developing a sales-call plan
• Conduct face-to-face meeting with customers at all levels in their organizations, following up on commitments and issues that arise during sales calls and developing a robust pipeline to meet annual sales.
• Report on customer and competitive developments that relate to assigned sales territory.
• Lead/participate in the post sales implementation team by coordinating the integration of the team members and preparation of the account specific implementation action plan with the new customer.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years selling multi-million dollar contracts in the Drayage, NVOCC, freight forwarding
• Strong international (Asia) logistics business development and sales experience 
• Managed the RFQ process for new and existing business services
• Managed executive/C level customer relationships
• Highly skilled on sales negotiation, delivering presentations, and supply-chain logistics
• Working knowledge of PC based applications and Electronic Information Systems
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
