Our client, Cornerstone Systems Inc., provides intermodal, railcar, consolidation, truck brokerage, drayage, LTL, on-site logistics, warehousing, and transloading services in US, Canada, and Mexico.  They pride themselves on following their core values: Integrity, Honesty, Respect, Loyalty, and Never Satisfied (Continuously Seeking Improvement.) We are seeking an Account Executive for Intermodal Sales Division.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Account Executive will be responsible for developing new and existing accounts that grow the Company’s market share and profitability.  The Account Executive is a highly motivated, self-starter that plays an integral part in the Company’s overall success level. 

Any location in US

Sell non-asset transportation services specifically intermodal services
Maintain current accounts by providing excellent customer service and strong customer relationships
Consult and work closely with Cornerstone Operations staff to ensure customers’ needs are met
Report and/or resolve issues that may arise in a timely manner
Stay in frequent contact with customer’s to assist, or offer solutions, as needed; Work to identify additional opportunities
Identify and develop new leads through referrals and cold calls
Research and qualify potential leads to determine if they could be actual prospects
Develop a sales plan to ensure constant sales growth
Understand and communicate Cornerstone Systems products, services and transportation solutions
Focus on market segments (automotive, retail, commodity, appliance, electronic, and agricultural ideal), commodities, modes of service
Build or request rates with Cornerstone Pricing department to confidently present to potential customer
Consistent and timely follow-up to close the sale and/or gain commitment
Attend, network, and market Cornerstone Systems at industry functions
Participate in Trade Shows, join trade groups/associations
Stay abreast of, understand, and communicate current marketplace trends, industry news, etc. (rail/truck markets, capacity/driver issues, etc.)
Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships (employees, customers/vendors/railroads/truckers/warehouses/ports/etc.)
Must be willing and able to travel abundantly as needed

BACKGROUND PROFILE                                                                                                                                               
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics or related field preferred
5+ years of outside sales experience selling non-asset transportation services specifically intermodal services
Possess an entrepreneurial attitude, competitive spirit, and sense of urgency
Ability to work independently and as a team
Effective oral and written communication skills
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Proficient in Spanish/English
Transportation or logistics industry experience required

Base Salary
Bonus/Commission Program
